Hi, My name is Kieffer. My aunt Pam Connelly wanted me to contact you. I live and Corvallis Oregon which it appears your route takes you through near the end. We live just outside of town in a small apartment complex. Your welcome to stop in and stay the night and get a shower. We do have 2 cats. Our small complex has a lot of dogs so our cats are familiar with them happily ignoring so long as they are not being charged or barked at.
Hi Greg and Jamie! I’m enjoying your blog, and was shocked to see that you met the Pedouins (real name: the Harrisons) a few weeks ago! We met them in California when they were on their way to Alaska on their bizarro five person bike – yes, they really did it! A few months later my husband was in Fairbanks and he visited them in the cabin they stayed in for the winter. We have a copy of their book too.
My husband and I are both frequent cycletourists ourselves, in the US and Europe, and we had a great time meeting this family. As far as we could see the father provided about 60% of the power, the mother about 30%, and the oldest daughter about 10%.
Happy trails – may the wind always be at your backs!
Hi Gretta! Thanks for taking the time to check out the blog and for your message. It’s so neat that we both met the Harrisons– what a lovely family. Sounds like you have quite a bit of bicycle touring experience yourselves… that’s wonderful! Thanks for the kind wishes. 🙂
